Akron County Public Library

This is a 247,000 SF addition to the existing 1970 Akron-Summit County Public Library in downtown Akron, Ohio.  In addition to moving the collection materials, formally in the basement stacks to accessable and browseable areas, the program also involves creating a 500 seat theater, café, public meeting rooms and exhibition spaces.

Takeshi Okada was a designer on this project with Gwathmey Siegel and Associates.
